Num Ti Jah, Fall 2011

Morning near Bow Lake. 2011

Num Ti Jah Window. 2011
It's kind of nice when you come back to pictures after not looking at them for awhile, and you actually like them. These are a few shots that I took in September while staying at Num Ti Jah Lodge in Banff National Park. I think I originally thought they were too pretty, or maybe it was because it rained all weekend and I only took about eight 4"x5" shots and felt I should've taken more. I have to admit to being a bit intrigued by the window and mirrors in my room that made it possible to see the lake even though my window faced away from it (as revealed in earlier post with Polaroid shot of the same window).

In any case, I'm heading up to Num Ti Jah Lodge this weekend to take a few more pictures of the interior of the building. Hope to get some good ones.

Holding up the Earth

I don't know what this is all about but I do head stands at the top of mountain passes when hiking. This was at Burstall Pass last August following an epic day.. 18km slog through a very bad path in Height of the Rockies Provincial Park, a torrential downpour for a solid 45 minutes and redemption in a barely smoking campfire which we coaxed to a good fire after a lot of convincing. Colette may have use Jedi mind tricks. Anyway, this photo is from the next day - still moody and overcast, but not raining.

Flipped 180 degrees, I think it looks like I'm holding the earth.
