The Ghost
More "Magic Hour" shots here. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise in the Ghost River Wilderness on Sunday. It ended up getting too windy and rainy to climb, but there were nice views to go with the morning coffee.

Steamboat Graveyard, Dawson
As I get ready to head back up North next week I've been looking at images from my first trip to Dawson this past June. As a side excursion from my main project, I visited the steamboat graveyard down river from Dawson with a few friends. There are seven ships slowly decomposing back into the earth at this site.

Book of Dreams
I was very excited to receive this book in the mail yesterday! I worked with my friend and designer Christine Majer over the last two months to bring together a portfolio book of the Book of Dreams work. I'm really happy with the results.
The book is now available at Blurb.com here.

The Magic Hour : Prairie Style
I took a trip to Saskatchewan this weekend for Canada Day to hang out with a dear friend and came across all kinds of magical things. I basically stumbled across my dream town for photographing - there was a snack shack by the beach, a dance hall and a fully operational drive-in movie theatre! I also came to think that the prairie sky gives the mountains a good run for their money when it comes to beauty.

A funny note
Found this note (along with a bunch of errant socks, t-shirts, etc) when I got back to the house after a run the other day.

Bear Creek, YT
A few pictures from the visit to the Bear Creek compound today. An area called 'The Island' is where I hope to install my project next summer. The first few pictures are of the compound proper while the last few are from the Island itself, the area at Bear Creek where the majority of residences were located. There are still a number of houses and roads in this area, though they are quickly becoming overgrown.
Thanks to Greg Hakonson for the tour and to Parks Canada for facilitating the access to the site.
